“John Hughes
The Dogs Mountain Founder and
Philanthropist 1955-2014.”
John Hughes in Sanctuaries
In 2006 he established Dogs Mountain to support, to empower the noble,
life-saving efforts of animal rescue, and to fund. He brought the land and
built a sanctuary from scratch to house and care for the rescue dogs, cats and goats!
He has a Shelter in Bangkok, Thailand with he’s 60 rescue dogs. He called
“Green House” with 3 caregiver who look after his rescue dogs while he’s in UK or Philippines. He’s concern is not end there.
Beyond sanctuary, John (aka the Voice of Stray Dogs) has a 33 year
background as an independent animal advocate. John has been running
campaigns to highlight the horror of the “ Dog Meat Trade” in China, Korea,
Thailand, Vietnam, and his own base in the Philippines, in London in 2010
John has been campaign for “Kerala- India Kill Dogs for Tourism” he is aware of what is happening in Kerala since other South East Asia countries use the very same methods in many other popular beach resort and town where is tourist destination and streets and beaches are “Cleaned” of any stray animals using very cruel methods, in order that everything looks neat and tidy for when the tourist arrived. Needless to say, “John is a strong advocate of humane capture spay, neuter and release”.

The Three
John, Shirly and Sonia, they’re truly the heart and soul; their personality embodies everything; their passion for the animals very driving beyond compare. From the moment you meet them is kind, caring warm and genuine. They have loved animals all their life. Dog People!
The Legacy
John Hughes dedicated his life to protecting and improving the lives of dogs throughout Asia. John created this compassionate care-for-life sanctuary to support an end to the dog meat trade in this region. Just as John began in 2005 Thailand moved to Philippines. Dogs Mountain continues to work hard to protect and improve the lives of vulnerable animals.
His aim has always been to provide a safe haven for threatened dogs, other animals so that these animals can live peacefully; and this continues to be the purpose of the Dogs Mountain Today.
The Twin Sister
Today, The Dogs Mountain is thriving and John R, Hughes Legacy is continued through the leadership and dedication of Shirly and Sonia Sebusa, and the dedicated friends, family and supporters, who continues he’s work.
Despite all the challenged that have been faced. Everything that we have
been through, has been still stands , so much about the Dogs Mountain remains the same, and true to its roots. We do absolutely everything in our power to make sure this noble; vision of the great John Hughes, continues what we started.
