Dogs Mountain is non-profit organization charity in the Philippines “Not for profit or gain” that provide desperately needed sanctuary for dogs rescue from abuse, abandonment, neglect, and the very upsetting Dog Meat Trade. Despite being illegal in the Philippines, this cruel trade continues to cause unimaginable and unnecessary suffering to thousand of helpless dogs and cat in the Philippines and other Asian countries. This privately run and funded by John R. Hughes

Life for dogs in the Philippines can very be tough, and many dogs live on the street or have been maltreated by their owner, getting into the fight with other dogs, suffering from abuse, malnourished, neglect, abandon, and the very disgusting and barbaric upsetting dog meat trade in the Philippines. Without dog sanctuary, there would be nowhere in the area for rescued dogs to be taken to go.

Most of the resident at the sanctuary were being rescued from upsetting dog meat trader. Some of them surely are pets who had been snatched from the outside of their home, snatched from the street, these poor dogs, some with their legs forced behind their back and bound with string, others with their muzzles bound tightly so tightly their nose so that can hardly breath, simply put on the van will either crammed into small cages with their muzzles tied. Pile of other terrified dogs waiting to be taken to the market where they’ll be sold for their meat. Seeing the terrible fear and pain that they experiencing to the hand of the trader, all this dogs suffer horrors, that no animal should ever suffer. We believed all animals and all these rescued dogs deserve to be treat with respect and love and affection, I would love every dog to be found a loving home with people who will care, who will love and care for them as much as their Dogs Mountain do, but having know the situation in the Philippines for over years, I know that re-homing is very difficult, and compromises the care and safety of the dog, unless the re-homing is done properly, under-international standard. As most dogs in my sanctuary have been through hell & back, and I will protect each and every one of them from any future cruelty.

They have no voice, only home is at our sanctuary, unless a similar or better home can be found, they can rely on the Dogs Mountain, many dogs will be with us for life some have special needs due their previous trauma. We remain positive and our sanctuary will continue to provide as safe loving home to hundreds of grateful animals for as long as needed. The Dogs Mountain will continue to care for these dogs till their last day.

There are currently over 50 resident animals as the sanctuary. Caring for every one of them costs £45 ($65) a day just to pay the daily food bill! Which at the first glance might not seem much but multiply that by 31 days, by 55 resident animals This cost not included aspects of animal care such as home comfort, treats, shampoo and soap for bathing, medicine to treat their ongoing ailments; maintenance of the enclosures, utilities, any necessary veterinary care that may arise; toys, blankets, + they have staffing costs for people that help ensure these animals are cared for, cleaned and fed. Sanctuaries supplies. So you can imagine that having a sanctuary and having 55 residents in our care depend on us expenses are quite high. And you can understand that the ongoing financial commitment is huge. With your support you can help these animals get the very best round-the-clock care to ensure that we are able to maintain the essential level of care that each of these animals requires.

Many of my dogs are over 15 years old with us; some we have cared for since 2006; they were first rescued from the dog meat trade. Without this sanctuary, these animals would have nowhere to go and become easy prey for dog meat butchers. The aim of this sanctuary is to provide them with a safe and secure, loving and forever home to live out their lives happily in peace and comfort. And this is what we provide for them a loving forever home away from harm & threats. With your help we can continue this work and protect and care vulnerable animals So, today, can I ask you if you’ll do something extra special to help these dogs be given a real chance of happiness. This will enable us to keep our promise to all our dogs and they will never lack medical care, never lack food, and will always have a comfy bed to rest their head in by making a donation.
Because you’ll not only help the ones we’ve rescued, you’ll be helping us carry on the legacy of John R. Hughes and to rescue more of them as well as continue what John Hughes started.
